Indicaspecies- No, I dont ski , though attempted to walk over the glaciers and slipped a bit ..There were lot of ice scultures there .
Cathy -Thank you. I agree with you. Nature makes you realize that life is so transcient-so enjoy while you can !
Stephanie -This is Jungfraujong, one of the peaks near Interlaken at 12000 feet …The Swiss railways take you to the doorstep of the glacier .Have explained in the post below
Smita – Alps are awesome..its been a dream to see the Himalayas and the Alps ..we were freezing and we didnt have much warm clothes – but it was great fun.Happy Deepavali to you. Hope you had a great time in Calcutta
Lalitha – Welcome to backpakker and thanks for your comment . I need to plan …
Priyank – very true ..global warming is all largely our doing ..It was freezing..thats why didnt venture out into the glacier too much and it was slippery as well
Speechless, Speechless & Speechless….Whao, the first series of shots & then the ones with the greenish tinge, they are really some stunning shots. I have heard about Jungfraujong but didn’t know it’s so beautiful. It reminded me of this place of Tawang, where the landscapes was very similar when you go at higher altitudes & at places our feet would go down 2-3 feets in snow….Excellent Shots!
Awesome pictures !! Oh you reminded me of my days there. Catching the train to Jungfraujong.. top of Europe and the ice museum. π
I even sent a few postcards from there.. the highest post office of Europe. Alas ! I had a still camera. Haven’t uploaded the pictures till now. Will have to get them scanned first.
Thanks ..The experiences were amazing..sometimes they make the travel worthwhile ..would love to see your pics ..Most of mine , except for the Europe trip are analog prints and I had to scan them ..will look at your travel blog

Amazing place. I wonder if they also light it/decorate the place with different colours.
Meanwhile I’m yet to venture as far a Bylakuppe. Happy to travel desktop here!

You have been to mandya ..Bylakuppe is just a couple of hours from Mysore..

I can see a piste. Did you ski as well? The ‘Eispalast’ is exciting. Were there ice models/sculptors there?
Lovely snow-covered mountain pictures.
As ever, a stunning set of photos which make me want to leave these shores!
I find there’s something strangely humbling about pictures like this – maybe because they act as a reminder of how small and transient we really are!
