Trails in Andhra Pradesh
We visited several temples in 2008 and I have posted most of them. Some like Shibi, Madurai Meenakshi temple are yet to be posted. However coming back to the trails – the last legs of my 2008 heritage trails were in Andhra Pradesh..Two different dynasties this time and neither of them complete though – the Vijaynagar in Lepakshi and Kakatiya in Warangal and around.Im leaving you with two collages, one of Lepakshi and the other of the old Warangal Fort..Lepakshi was a day trip from Bangalore while Warangal was an overnight trip from Hyderabad. We covered a lot of places enroute to Warangal and then travelled onwards to Palampet. I missed Bhongir as it had become dark, but I hope to get there again sometime..Some of my stories on these destinations have been published recently.
Warangal Fort
I hope you liked the collages from all three posts from all three states – Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Let me know which one you liked the best ( you could even choose any one collage ) and I would be glad to help if you plan to follow any of these trails in 2009.
Hi lakshmi
You are getting me more jealous than ever. such stone work – exquisite
best wishes for 2009 and hope to see many more such lively posts. its refreshing to meet someone who immerses into history.

Fantastic collages! 🙂
Darasuram would top my list and next would be Lepakshi! Well the Hoysalas… I wouldn’t mind re-visiting them, specially Doddagaddavalli 🙂
More collages in the pipeline?
The Darasuram one in the earlier post is my fave. 🙂
like em all 🙂
Oh what beautiful collages. Must have taken a lot of work to put them together.
My favorite is that of the Brihadesvara temple followed by darasuram and warangal (had to pick one from my home state:)
great… Happy traveling in 2009.
another request– it would be great if you could update wikipedia if any of your travel destination doesn’t have entry already.!
hi Laxmi!
I liked your the Andhra Pradhesh collages. In the first post of collage (the first in row out of three) the idea was good but it was not striking presentation according to me. In the last two posts however the central image captures attention while eyes keep rolling around the frame gathering what all exists around that one place.
Wish you a happy traveling in 2009 and a happy new year!
Hi Lakshmi,
though i am writing to u for the first time, i have been visiting ur blogs almost everyday for the last few weeks-in fact this blog is almost the last thing i read before i close for the night. the pics and your crisp and personalised descriptions make for great reading- makes me feel refreshed:) why havent u been updating the monologues- that’s another side of you which is v inspiring and yet down to earth and the text is v thought provoking. Do keep writing- u have a big fan out here:). and have a lovely 2009 and keep travelling and telling us tales of different places
