Meeting Roger Federer in Jungfrau, Switzerland
There are some moments in life which are the kind of stuff that dreams are made of. Little did I imagine a week ago that I would be in Switzerland, in the icy cold region on JungFrau region with 150 international media watching the legend Roger Federer play a tennis match in the snow, right on top of Europe . And there I was, so close to the legend. An event organised by Jungfrau railways and Lindt, it was strict protocol. We were not allowed to talk to the man, although we got to see him up close when he inaugurated a new Lindt chocolate making factory and a shop at the Jungfrau. And then he played the match with ski champion Lindsay Vonn and some media professionals got selected to ask a few questions after the match.
But just as he was leaving, I managed to get an autograph from him . And the gentleman that he was, he politely chatted with me on India, Wimbledon, his last match and the fourth epic set, meeting Sachin Tendulkar and even winning another Grand Slam..I asked him if he would like to play an exhibition match against Tendulkar in India and his eyes twinkled and said, Why not ? Would love to come to India..” I was completely mesmerised by the meeting, but more so by the man himself. Gentlemanly, humble, polite, great sense of humour..well, I can go on.
I could not get a selfie or a photo with him as his body guards politely whisked him away, but I took as many pictures of him..
I am still in Switzerland but I cant get the man out of my head.
Oye this is awesome. So now I met Roger since I met you 🙂

Love the photos you made on Jungfraujoch and glad you had such a great experience. I guess it makes it even more memorable if a meeting like this goes well. Are you still in Switzerland?

Cool blog mate – weirdest thing is I also have a blog article called “Meeting Roger Federer”! But it was in Melbourne back in 2010. Safe travels. Jonny
So funny, I mean, tennis at the top of the Jungfraujoch? I remember when I was there I saw nothing but snow, but I think you got a slightly better view! Next time I come to Switzerland, I hope Roger will be there to greet me as well. Great post and keep up the good travels.
