From the display window of the spice village in Mattancheri , the Jew Town near Fort Kochi. If you are planning to buy spices here, believe me , its very expensive. My driver had a suggestion – he asked us to buy the spices from a whole sale market close by. We did buy a few samples there as gifts, but its no less cheap.

This is a rather attractive display for the spices.
spicy indeed… and well, spices are generally expensive… i am tempted to buy them too when we travel, but then we use so little, that i never do!
Lovely display of spices.
i found everything at the Jew Town to be expensive….munnar had the same spices at very cheap rates and they are of very good quality as they grown there alongwith the tea gardens!!
When we had gone to Munnar, i bot loads of spices..same with ooty.. not bot elsewhere in kerala….. Mom still says how good they were.
Good picture and a neat spice story.
