In a chopper above Dubai with a Lumia1020

Last Monday, almost around the same time, I was hurriedly gulping my lunch at the Media One Hotel in Dubai to get ready for a chopper ride. Along with me was a group of ace photographers from Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain,South Africa besides India . I was invited by Nokia to see Dubai and Oman through the lens of Lumia 1020 which has a 41 mega pixel pro camera with a Carl Zeiss lens. And what an experience it was.

The Lumia 1020 is a great phone, sorry camera for travel photographers who want to capture a moment on the go – be it landscapes or street photography.

You can zoom, change your white balance , ISO and shutter as well and the photograph is stored in both hi res and low res formats and can be edited as well.

For an amateur travel photographer like me, this is going right into my handbag as the main go to camera while I travel.

The sea for me was far more captivating than the land and there are some islands “recreated” in Dubai – the Palm and the World .
