Deluxe Guest room in Marriott

Here’s a bit of a confession. For me, the most important thing when I travel is a good night’s sleep. Even if I party till late at night, I need to sleep well. Or else, I can be a terrible travel companion. I’ll be groggy and spaced out. And a good night’s sleep comes from a comfortable room with soft pillows and a warm bed. I am a bit fussy when it comes to my room. To begin, I hate smelly rooms, especially the ones that give out a damp musty smell. I like rooms with a view and most important of all, I need my room to be in the right temperature. It should not be too cold or hot.

So, when Marriott asked me what is the one thing I would like in my room, I said that every little detail should be customised and personal. For instance, if the temperature of my room is regulated to a comfortable level before I check in, and there’s a playlist of my favourite songs to greet me that would be perfect.

I would think that a hotel’s style and design should make the guest feel very comfortable, giving them a sense of being at home. A room to me needs to have character, and it should be personalised to a certain extent, not just a clinical space.

So, if you have the chance to design your own hotel room, what would you like to add? What would be your idea of a comfortable room? Or is there a certain style that you fancy?

How many times have we sat in a room miles away from home wishing that it would be as comfortable as our own room, and hoping someone would hear our request? Finally someone is listening. Share your ideas and thoughts and you might just be the lucky winner of a free night at any Marriott hotel.

For regular travelers, what they can do is ask and record the preferred room temperature and confirm their arrival time, the hotel will be able to maintain that temperature when the guest arrives. Also, book the preferred time for the tennis court/spa etc to make it more convenient for guests.

Hey Lakshmi, that link is un-clickable? I could google search of course, but thought I’d let you know as well 🙂

Also, love the new clean site and the pages. Neat!
