The skies at 15,000 feet in Arunachal Pradesh

We were in Arunachal Pradesh beyond Tawang driving at 15,000 feet, probably a bit lesser as the picture indicates. It was bright and sunny out there although it was freezing and we were breathless , but the blue sky was a perfect foil to the rocky mountains .The mountains, sometimes filled with snow gave us directions on how to cross the border. We were closer to China and Tibet, but we had no proper documents to venture on the journey . Maybe sometime…

Nice pictures. Interesting story. 15,000 would have made me tired, I don’t think I could hike around that high up. Once I was at 13,000 and it made me feel a little sick.

Very pretty pictures. I always love to see pictures of mountains because we don’t have them overhere.
The sunshine in the first pictures is very beautiful.

Wow I’m envious, I’d love to be trekking on a day like that. Great header pic too by the way, it reminds me of a boat trip i once took to Elephanta island, the sky was just like it 🙂

Well Lakshmi you deserve kudos for bringing out your trip to Arunachal especially Tawang area alive in Pics.
I was there in 1994 for six months and rue the fact of not capturing those images.
There is a historical background to the PT Tso lake, a Lady chinese civil engineer named PT Tso, she was chief architect of building motorable road( what u see by the the lake )from Tibet to Tawang during Indo-china war in 1962. The rest is history .
