Markets of the world – A lovely lady from Kumbakonam
I spent three days in Kumbakonam and Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu , roaming around the markets .It was a more of a personal trip, mainly a pilgrimage. I am not too much of a religious person but I love visiting old temples, especially those that are in small towns and villages.
On the last day however, I more time roaming around the markets in Kumbakonam, known for brass and copper ware, vessels and lamps. And I found this lovely lady.
The brass ware here is very famous and most of these shops have their own little manufacturing units. I can lose myself for hours here.
Do visit our previous Market series – a floating market in Bangkok, jamuns and jalebis from Mussoorie, an antique market in Karaikudi, the colourful market in Hong Kong among others.
Wow! Love the intricate work, especially on the locks of her hair.
Intense details. Beautifully captured.
Thank you..
